Hit The Ground Running

You’ve heard the expression, “hit the ground running”; well, now I know what it means. Perhaps it is just being new and not knowing the routine, but a lot seems to be going on–and it feels good! I know in this pandemic, life has slowed down for many of us and it is difficult to connect, but I want to get to know you. Since we cannot connect the normal way through on-going church-life, it means we have to find more creative ways to connect. There is always the phone–and that works well, but I like in person meetings when possible. I am beginning to make some pastoral visits as needs and requests arise. Generally, I am having these meetings in the morning when it is cool enough to meet outdoors, but we can also meet indoors, if we are all willing to take proper safe-distancing precautions. You don’t have to wait for a pastoral emergency for me to visit. If you would like to have me come by for a visit, let me know. Maybe you could even invite another church member over at the same time. I am generally in the office here at the church Monday – Thursday from 10-2 and you can always stop by (though we are also asking people who visit the office to wear a mask to protect the staff). Give me a call, or send me an email and we can find a time to connect. Also, if you are having regular Zoom meetings with other church members, such as a Sunday School class, feel free to invite me to “visit” your class and we can begin to know one other that way. I am enjoying being your pastor and look forward to meeting you all.

Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
