What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving! The holidays are upon us and it is time that we give thanks for all our many blessings. Even in the midst of this pandemic, there are many things for which we can be thankful. Speaking personally, I would like to list some of the things for which I am thankful. First, I am thankful for my family, for my wife, Beth, and for our two children, Ellie and Joe. I am thankful that we all are safe and healthy and have roofs over our heads and have food to eat. Not everyone has this, so I am very thankful. I am also thankful for my job here at Harmony Grove. You all have received me with open arms. Your love for one another, for God, and for your church delights me. I look forward to what God has in store for us and very thankful that we are in this ministry together and of your acceptance of me. In addition, I am thankful for this nation in which we live. We live in a democratic country where we are free to worship our God and free to pursue our interests. Not everyone lives in a nation with such freedoms. Finally, I am thankful for God. I am thankful for His love of me, though I do not deserve it. I am thankful for this world He created and in which we live. I am thankful for the way He made me in His image and formed me to be the person I am today. For all this and much more, I am thankful. I hope during this Thanksgiving you are able to keep yourself and those you love safe and that you might take a little time to list for you those things for which you are thankful. From my family to yours: Happy Thanksgiving!
